Maria Elena Garcia Pascarella is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the School of Social Work and the Faculty Lead for the School Social Work Track. She joined Dominican University in August 2021 as Director of Field Education in the School of Social Work. She has over 20 years of experience in the elementary public school system as a school social worker and special education administrator. She worked in the school districts of Cicero, Chicago, Oak Park and Downers Grove. Prior to that, she served as a Community Education Volunteer in the Peace Corps in the Dominican Republic, she holds an Illinois Professional Educator License with endorsements in School Social Work and General Administration. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Illinois.
